TICK is a free, open-source hobby project. Playing it means accepting the short list below.
The service
TICK is provided as-is and free of charge, with no warranty of any kind and no guarantee of availability. It is one person's side project: it may be taken down, reset, rebalanced or rewritten at any time, without notice. Nothing here is a subscription, and nothing is sold.
No accounts, nothing to lose
There is no sign-up and no persistent profile. Your callsign is generated per connection and belongs to nobody. Your Aim Rating history lives in your own browser and is yours to clear. Because there is nothing stored, there is nothing that can be lost, restored or transferred.
Fair play
Do not:
- run a modified or automated client, or otherwise interfere with the simulation the server runs;
- attack, flood or attempt to disrupt the service, or connect to it in volume for anything other than playing it;
- use the service to harass anyone.
The game is authoritative on the server precisely so that cheating is uninteresting: your client sends aim and button state, and everything else it draws came back from the server. Connections that abuse the service may be dropped.
Source and contributions
The source lives at github.com/sambhavsaxena/tick. Your rights to copy, modify and redistribute the code are whatever the licence in that repository grants — these terms cover the hosted game, not the source. Contributions are welcome there; by opening a pull request you agree it may be merged under the repository's licence.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the author is not liable for any loss or damage arising from using, or being unable to use, TICK. It is a browser game about aiming at rectangles.
